Every week, in a rehearsal room in Damascus, an all-female choir gathers to sing. They come from different generations, religions and regions of Syria — Druze and Alawite, Christian and Muslim — women who agree on little except that the country they love is worth staying for. Gardenia is one of the last places where these voices still meet. This is the story of what they are singing to protect.

A living mosaic
As the choir travels across the country, the film follows its singers beyond the rehearsal room — into the homes, streets and communities that shape their everyday lives. From a Druze singer questioning her place in the Syria taking shape around her, to an Alawite member quietly contemplating exile, each woman carries her own hopes, fears and vision of the country’s future.
Together they form a living mosaic of Syria — a country negotiating its future through the lives of women determined to remain present, connected and heard.
